Toni George
Founder - One Stop Social Work
"I created One Stop Social Work because I know how overwhelming this profession can feel - whether you are on your first placement or 20 years in. These resources are the tools I wish I had."

Qualifications

  • 🎓 BA Social Work
  • 🎓 Post Graduate in Practice Education
  • 🎓 Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP)
  • 📋 Registered with Social Work England

One Stop Social Work was founded in 2019 by Toni George - a qualified social worker, practice educator and higher education professional with over 20 years of experience in health and social care.

It began as a freelance offer - providing practice education, training and reflective practice directly to organisations and teams. Over the years it has evolved, and the focus is now primarily on creating high-quality, practical tools and resources that social workers can use every day.

Toni's direct practice background was predominantly in adult social care, with a particular interest in working with older people - experience that shapes the depth and relevance of everything created here. However, there are - and will continue to be - resources tailored to children's services and other areas of practice too, reflecting the breadth of the profession.

Every resource is rooted in real practice - built from genuine experience and designed to make a difference, whether you are a student on placement, a qualified practitioner managing a complex caseload, or a practice educator supporting the next generation.

Reflective Models by One Stop Social Work

Two original reflective frameworks created by Toni George from real social work practice and education experience. Designed to be accessible, memorable and genuinely useful - not just another model to memorise.

George, T. (2026) One Stop Social Work.

Original Framework - George, T. (2026)

The MAPS Reflective Model

A 4-stage framework for navigating reflection

M
Moment
What happened?
A
Affect
How did it feel?
P
Perspective
What does it mean?
S
Step Forward
What will I do?
The MAPS Reflective Model - One Stop Social Work
M - Moment

Describe the experience clearly and objectively. Focus on facts - what happened, who was involved, what actions were taken.

A - Affect

Explore your emotional response honestly. What were you feeling? What assumptions shaped you? How might others have felt?

P - Perspective

Step back and critically analyse. Draw on theory, legislation and professional standards. Whose perspective is missing?

S - Step Forward

Turn insight into action. Identify clear steps to develop your practice. How does this link to your CPD and SWE Professional Standards?

MAPS is designed for focused, in-the-moment reflection - one specific situation, four clear stages. It moves beyond simple description to support genuine critical analysis, drawing on emotion, professional perspective and a clear commitment to action.

Original Framework - George, T. (2026)

The GROW-TH Reflective Model

A 6-stage framework for deeper, expansive reflection

G
Grounding
R
Reaction
O
Observation
W
Wondering
T
Thinking it Through
H
How Forward
The GROW-TH Reflective Model - One Stop Social Work
G - Grounding

Before reflecting, ground yourself. What was the context? What were you carrying into this moment? Start with where you were.

R - Reaction

What was your immediate response - emotionally and practically? Acknowledging your reaction is the foundation of honest reflection.

O - Observation

What did you notice - about the situation, the people involved, and yourself? Slow down and look carefully.

W - Wondering

What questions does this raise? Sit with curiosity rather than rushing to conclusions. What don't you know yet?

T - Thinking it Through

Apply theory, legislation and professional standards. What does this mean for your practice? Name the frameworks that help explain what happened.

H - How Forward

Identify a specific, meaningful commitment. Be specific - not "I will reflect more" but exactly what you will do differently and when.

GROW-TH is designed for deeper, expansive analysis - when there is time and space to really explore a situation.

MAPS for focused, in-the-moment reflection. GROW-TH for deeper, expansive analysis. Use both. They complement each other. George, T. (2026)

For Organisations

A resource your whole team will use

Our resources are not a one-off training event. They are operational tools that are used repeatedly - embedded into supervision, induction and CPD. That changes the value calculation entirely.

All One Stop Social Work products are licensed for personal use only as standard. An organisational licence gives you the legal right to distribute resources across your workforce.

Consider the Adult Services Statutory Supervision Toolkit as an example. Supervision is a professional requirement - most social workers have supervision approximately every six weeks. That means each member of your team is actively using this resource throughout the year, every year. This is not a training session that fades. It is a tool that shapes practice every single time they sit down for supervision.

Why organisational licensing works

Complements your existing training programme - gives practitioners the tools to apply learning in practice
Used repeatedly throughout the year - not a one-off but an embedded part of everyday practice
Consistent tools across your whole team - everyone working from the same high-quality framework
🏢
Lawful whole-organisation distribution
Distribute resources legally across your entire team, department or service without restriction.
🔄
Repeated, embedded use
Unlike training, these tools are used again and again - in every supervision, every placement, every CPD review.
